Appearance::
Zuleika is a pretty young woman who has blue-green eyes that have an almost glassy quality about them. Her eyes are always a soft shade of blue unless she's angry, then they seem to take on a stormy blue coloring. People have often complimented her on her eyes, but Zee always would just blush and freeze up. Honestly she didn't see what was so special. She has fairly pale skin and silky, dirty blonde hair. Zulieka's hair reaches down to just above her mid back in blonde waves. It has a slight curl in it, in addition to the wave. She stands at around 5'3" and only weighs a mere 102lb. She is very lean, but just because she doesn't look like much doesn't mean she should be taken lightly. Zuleika is extremely strong for her small size. She appears to most younger than she really is. Most guess her to be sixteen to eighteen. When really she's twenty years old. Many have told her to be grateful for her youthful appearance. She has long limbs, but not awkwardly so. Zee is very graceful in motion and it is a rarity to see her stumble or take a misstep. She can twist and move in ways most people find unnatural or disturbing, flexibility has always been won of her strong points. Zuleika is even able to walk on her hands for up to an hour at a time. Not something most people would even try to find out, but Zee's a strange one. She's pretty to look at but you surely can't judge her on her appearance alone.
Personality::
Zee is a sweet and friendly girl. But at times she can be painfully shy. I mean try introducing yourself as Zuleika Zellner, not an easy task. Especially when your voice is so soft people need you to repeat two or three times before they get it. These uneasy moments are what lead her to just have people call her Zee or Zz. Not very grown up names for someone her age, but she's gone by them since she was little and they've kind of stuck. Zee likes to try and find the best about everyone. Everyone has something bad about them so why focus on that when you can focus on the good in someone. Just because she's seems overly sweet doesn't mean Zuleika's a fool. She's not very quick to trust. Zee will be perfectly sweet and polite to anyone, but that doesn't mean much. Once she tells you her full name, that's when you know you've won her trust. Sometimes she finds herself feeling lonely. Her shyness keeps her from making very many friends. She often just watches others quietly, she's an observer. Some have even mistaken her for a mute she can be so quiet. Zuleika loves dance and gymnastics and grew up competing in the two. Her extreme flexibility helped her greatly in it. It's one of the few things she is ok with taking great pride in. Though overall she is very modest and compliments embarrass her. She will often find it hard to speak anything other than a meek 'thank you'. Zuleika's most interesting quality though is what happens when she's cornered or angry, or most importantly, defending Sadie. She can become very fierce and will protect herself and her sister furiously. Holding true to 'big things come in small packages'. Zee is always very understanding an empathetic toward others. She's the kind of person you can tell your life story to without interruption or judgment. And you never have to worry about her telling a single soul. Zuleika is very trustworthy, you can count on her to follow through on any promises she makes. Such a sweet person should have a lot of friends but a wrench is thrown in that when you can't find it in you to talk long enough to really get to know them. It takes a lot of work to get her to feel comfortable enough with you to get her to open up and think about befriending someone. Sadie is still to this day the only one who really knows everything about her. Really Zee would love to make some friends but she's terribly unsure of how to go about doing so.
History::
Zuleika being twenty years old is now on her own in District One. Though she does still keep in touch with her family. Zee's only family nearby is her father and her adopted sister Sadie. She works part time teaching Gymnastics and Dance to younger girls. She enjoys the job but mainly demonstrations while the instructor explains. Talking has never been her strong point. Zuleika's mother died from cancer when she was only five years old. Her father never found anyone else he could love, but he wanted a second child. That's when Sadie entered the picture. Sadie was adopted as a four year old, when Zee was only six. It was Sadie who gave Zuleika her nickname. A four year old is obviously going to have a hard time saying 'Zuleika' so she took to calling her Zz or more commonly Zee. The name made her father laugh and soon he was calling her by it too.
Zee got into Gymnastics and Dance at a young age. She competed and always did very well. Soon Sadie took it up as well. The sisters would compete together and were very hard to beat. The two of them did everything together. And they looked similar enough that no one would ever be able to guess that they weren't sisters by blood. The girls father couldn't be more proud. He helped them and supported them through their careers. Sadie still competes and does fantastic where as Zee has retired to instruction only. She often visits Sadie and watches her at competitions. Zee refers to Sadie as her other half. She couldn't imagine being without the younger girl, or how being related by blood would make her love her anymore. As far as Zee is concerned blood is just the sticky red stuff that keeps you alive, it has no authority over how much people can care about each other.
Zuleika doesn't remember much about her mother. All her memories of her mother were of her mom singing her to sleep at night. Looking at pictures of the woman, it's easy to see where Zee got her looks from. She bares striking resemblance to her mother. Maybe that's why her father would often slip up and call her Valeri, her mother's name. Sometimes he would catch himself calling Zee, Valeri, and Sadie, Zuleika. Zee ignores it and figures it must be hard for her father. He apologies and she just smiles and tells him it's ok. When Zee first turned twenty she moved into the small apartment above the studio she teaches at. It's small, but it's peaceful and she works just downstairs. The girls she teaches love her and look up to Zee as an older sister. Zuleika having had such an impressive career is inspiring to the girls. Sometimes it pains Zee to know that very few can make it as Elite Gymnasts or Dancers. Her and Sadie had both been very lucky. But as long as they seemed to love it, Zee was more than happy to teach them everything she knows to help them make it.
