.It is impossible to say how first the idea entered my brain; but once conceived, it haunted me day and night.

- His black hair is a large clump of mass that is either decorated with ornaments such as hats, flowers, or spider webs. No one has ever really had the will to look over it, but some say that it has the density of a helmet, seeing as it shows no sign of movement or flexibility when he skips around in the wind or goes and plays around in the flower beds. He takes the time to mess with it and often dyes it with different who knows what.
[/li][li] Nobody’s ever gotten a good look at his eyes, but generally, they’re seen as really really dark and defined. Though occasionally you’ll see another color due to contacts. Most of the time, they look like two hollow sockets rather than anything capable of sight.
[/li][li] His face is pallid, most likely because of his poor health. He’s usually very sick and doesn’t do much to treat it other than buy the occasional pack of Kleenex. Prominent cheekbones reside beside his flat nose; above being very faint eyebrows. His ears are hidden by his hair, so he might have just a few hearing problems, but other than that, his face would be perfectly fine and ordinary. If you could see past all the makeup.
[/li][li] Patches has a slim frame that could somehow fit through the tightest of bars (said from experience). He’s never too hungry and often rejects the food people offer him in the streets. He lives amongst the lower class of District One and doesn’t have much of a occupation to withhold a steady salary. Thin, long legs make good for running and skipping. And in Patches’ case, escaping mental hospitals.
[/li][li] Unmistakably, the most bizarre thing people make note of when looking at him would be the way he dresses. Gothic martyrdom is really what his clothing expresses and reflects on, though sometimes, he could go out to stroll in an ordinary shirt or sweater, depending on the weather. Winter calls for a slim t-shirt, and summer is all about wool sweaters.
.All in vain; because Death, in approaching him had stalked with his black shadow before him, and enveloped the victim.

[/li][li] When first approaching someone such as Patches, he might strike you as strange. Maybe a bit mortifying. But have no fear because what stands before you is a rather good natured boy who does enjoy giving back to the community. However, that doesn't change the face that he's really really really really weird. He practically lives off spider webs and other scraps, all the while performing various acts in the streets of District One. It goes from acting to fire eating; he does it all. Overall, Patches Oshiro is a very strange, talented young man.
[/li][li]From ever since he was a child, the boy has acted and spoken as if in a haze. Despite all the energy he might display and express through his shows, he in truth is very tired for some reason. No signs of insomnia actually. In fact, if you watch him quite closely, you can see his eyes slowly dipping as he plays with several spinning blade chains. When he speaks, his voice tends to trail off so his sentences usually halt midway.
[/li][li]Patches is absolutely positively good with children. Kind of. Oh how he loves the little people. Kind of. Parents of District One make sure to lock their doors at night and keep their children away from the guy, but in the end, it is the children that approach Patches, not the other way around. He delivers street entertainment to the people of District One. And so to the people of District One, his whole persona is entertainment. The children go to poke and make fun of him; throwing bits of spider webs and trashed newspaper for him to eat. Since he lives in the third alley of the third street from the District Square, his home is easily accessible, making it quite effortless to go and sneak a peek at the circus freak on the way home.
[/li][li]Now, at this point, despite his uncanny appearance, Patches may seem to be a decent fellow with a good heart. Too good of a heart. Be weary when befriending such a person, as friends are very hard to come by when you're the freak show of the District, Patches will most certainly become attached to anybody who spends more than 3 minutes with him. As aforementioned, Patches' home is completely accessible and easy to get into. Getting out is another matter.
[/li][li]You'd think that someone who plays with fire and very very sharp objects would be as focused as he needs to be. Not exactly. Most of the time, he's so concentrated on the show's success that he's oblivious to the safety of the audience/passerby. He regularly breaks ornaments and furniture when he does manage to afford some and has even managed to "accidentally" set several, several drapes on fire.
.Hearken! and observe how healthily – how calmly I can tell you the whole story.

[/li][li] 5 years ago, Patches had trotted into District One, showing no trace of memory. People have questioned where he comes from, but none of the other Districts claim him as one of their own. At first, people settled that he had been Capitol-bred, but ruled it out as soon as someone suggested that it was more likely that he was nomad. Though, his true origins are still unknown.
[/li][li] At age 17, roughly around the time he came to the District, he did a few street shows and earned enough money to buy out a small shack conveniently built between an alley. To everyone else, it was a dirty bathroom shoved in between bricks. To him, it was perfect. Just enough room for him to keep all his makeup and most importantly, spider webs everywhere.
[/li][li]As long as anyone could remember, he's wanted to step up his street shows from something that people watch to something that people worship. He's aspired to open a first class circus; grand entertainment at it's best. Everyone knew that if he had the money, he could bring out his potential, but as of now, it's only a dream.
[/li][li]Patches has never had a lover. Or at least in the 5 years that he's been here. Past lovers have never been referred to, or even brought up for the matter, though everyone around him knows that it is a sensitive topic for no apparent reason. Sometimes you just might hear a faint weeping off in the darkness; coincidentally near the third alley on the third street away from the District Square. The cries beg and plea and call out innumerable "Maggie!"'s.
